Any request made with one of the organization's API keys: from your sites and apps, scripts, the CLI, the SDKs and agents over MCP, counted per calendar month (UTC). Working in the web app doesn't count, and neither do image loads, public search, or requests refused by a rate limit. The organization's Usage page shows the month so far, and the API requests guide has tips for needing fewer.

No. Images are served through their own URLs on a CDN, not the API: a rendition is made on first request and cached for a year, and loading it isn't an API request, so neither counts toward your plan, and there are no per-rendition fees. Plans differ in how much file storage you have. Image URLs are rate limited per visitor address, generously enough for pages full of images.

Projects, collections, records, members and webhooks are hard limits: the request that would exceed one is refused with a 402 plan_limit_exceeded error that states the usage and the limit, and nothing else is affected. API requests and file storage are soft limits on paid plans: we never cut a paying customer off; responses carry a Nohead-Usage-Warning header until you upgrade, and owners get an email when the month's API requests are used. On Free they are hard limits: once the month's API requests are used, requests are refused with a 429 until the next month or an upgrade (owners get an email at 80% and when they run out), and an upload that would go over the storage limit is refused, with nothing already stored touched. Each file can be up to 10 MB on Free and 100 MB on paid plans; a larger one is refused before it uploads. Limits may change during the beta.

Owners upgrade from the Usage page through a checkout, and change or cancel through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period. Downgrading deletes nothing: anything over the new plan's limits stays readable and editable; you just cannot add more until you are under it. Revision history and the activity log older than the new plan keeps stay for 30 days, then are removed.
